From the announcement:
The "Deep Sea Adventure" expansion dice add a bit of drama to the game! You can replace one of the two dice used in the standard Deep Sea Adventure with this expansion die. The expansion die has two special rolls printed on it.
"x3": The number of rolls on the other regular die multiplied by 3. It can be up to 9!
"The number of explorers in front of you": The number of other players in your direction. It enhances interaction between players.
From the English-language rule sheet:
Play by replacing one of the two Deep Sea Adventure dice with the expansion dice. The dice has the following sides: one, two, two, three and two with "special numbers".
Special numbers are:
x3 which triples the number rolled on the other die
{diver_meeple > ?} which equals the number of other players in the direction of the other player
